Class-Action Suit filed against Pacquaio for not Disclosing Injury Before Fight

- by

Los Angeles, CA: A consumer fraud class action lawsuit has been filed against Manny Pacquaio claiming the boxer should have disclosed that he had a shoulder injury prior to his fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The proposed class action has been filed by Clive Hurwitz against the boxer and Top Rank Inc., alleging fraud and unlawful business practices. The lawsuit is seeking restitution and unspecified compensatory damages.

According to the lawsuit, despite the fight' billing, spectators were "generally underwhelmed"by the match, which the defendant lost. Had Hurwitz known of Pacquaio' injury, he would not have purchased the pay-per-view fight, which cost consumers an average of $100, according to the lawsuit.
