TJX Cos Faces Overtime Class Action

- by

New York, NY: A class action lawsuit has been filed against TJX Cos by a former assistant manager who alleges the company failed to pay him overtime, unjustly wrote him up for filing complaints about the lack of overtime pay for employees, and subsequently terminating his employment.

Mohammed M. Ahmed alleges that he and other assistant managers were forced to perform tasks of hourly employees without proper compensation at a T.J Maxx in New York. Court records show that Ahmed worked as much as 70 hours per week and was expected to perform duties including cleaning stores, stocking shelves and running the register.

TJX runs T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods.
