Cathedral City et al.

A class action lawsuit has been filed against Cathedral City, the chief of police, three department administrators and 10 other unnamed defendants on behalf of more than half of the city's police officers. The suit alleges that the officers have faced "unlawful retaliation" and that they have been subjected to "adverse employment actions" for "participating as witnesses and/or parties in another lawsuit" against the city. The allegations are in regards to a lawsuit filed by the Cathedral City Police Officers Association in 2002. The suit seeks unspecified compensatory damages for back wages and unpaid overtime, general damages for emotional and mental distress and attorneys' fees, as well as seeks punitive damages.
