EB Games / GameStop Unpaid Overtime

Employment law specialists are investigating a possible lawsuit against EB Games (Electronics Boutique of America, Inc.). It is alleged that managers of EB Games and GameStop retail locations in Los Angeles County may have been denied overtime pay. Qualified plaintiffs include those who have worked in a management role from November 2003 to present.

In California, an employer must pay overtime at the rate of one and one half (1.5) times an employee's regular rate of pay to hourly employees for hours worked over eight (8) in a workday or for the first eight (8) hours worked on his or her seventh consecutive day of work in a work week.

EB Games creates video games for all platforms: Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo and more. Electronics Boutique and GameStop have recently merged to hold annual revenues of $4.3 billion dollars and have more than 4,200 retail stores worldwide.

EB Games has approximately 50 GameStop locations in Los Angeles County, including Hollywood, Maywood, Huntington Park, Glendale, Inglewood, Universal City, Rosemead, and Culver City, California. Qualified retail locations include EB Games, GameStop, Planet X, or Electronics Boutique stores.

Overtime not paid, unable to take mandatory breaks due to lack of coverage and payroll hours. They made us fill out California break logs alleging that we took our breaks even though we had no payroll hours to be able to facilitate most breaks. We would get written-up if breaks were not logged whether you took them or not.
