Brown County Adult Detention Center

Former inmates have filed a class action lawsuit against the jail claiming they were beaten on a regular basis, forced to live in unsanitary conditions, and denied medical attention. One inmate, James Worthington, allegedly recalls specific incidences where his cell door was purposely left open by sheriff department employees in order to allow other violent inmates to inflict physical harm. Another inmate, Garrett Gardner, claims he and other inmates were denied private meetings with their legal counsel to prepare for trial, a violation of the Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

I was forced to live in unsanitary conditions and was denied medical treatment when I fell in the jail on Sept. 24, 2015 due to blacking out from diabetes and twisted by knee, it is still bothering me and I ask several times to see the doctor. I am now in Butler county jail and have to go to court in Brown County again on November 19.
