Michelin North America

A lawsuit has been filed in the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia and is seeking class action status against the tire company. The lawsuit was filed by the Concerned Pension Group at Michelin, a voluntary association of approximately 570 Michelin Pension Plan members. They claim the trust plan has been compromised by surplus funds being diverted to meet required employer contributions instead of for the exclusive benefit of employees, former employees and beneficiaries. Company mergers, pension plan mergers and Michelin's failure to maintain separate plan accounting have further compromised the benefits to both active and retired members.
