A class action lawsuit has been filed against the suppliers and retailers of milk. The lawsuit seeks to require warning labels on milk in the District of Columbia regarding the effects of lactose intolerance. The Washington based Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine advocates a vegan diet and plaintiffs claim they have suffered cramps, diarrhea, and other gastrointestinal problems from consuming milk. Lactose intolerance is the inability to fully digest lactose, the sugar found in milk.
