I have booked flights, called escort services, spent too much time on the computer, and left rude comments on the computer at night, and drove around eating junk food I formerly wouldn't have had I not been taking mirapex.

I have been fighting compulsive gambling for years now and did not know what was wrong. I just learned the side affects of Mirapex and Pramipexole. I started really gambling with no control over what I was doing. I have lost somewhere around $4000,000., our life savings, a house and almost my husband.

What are you taking in place of Mirapex?

Compulsion comes in many forms.. The uncontrollable urge to.... Being less inhibited, not of my own doing, has ruined a huge part of my life. My personality slowly started changing. I didn't realize how much Mirapex had changed me. I became financially distraught which took me all the way to bankruptcy, losing friends, family. The financial toll of spending recklessly has ruined me financially.

Without going into specifics, because of Mirapex I developed another type of compulsion different from gambling. It almost cost me my marriage. Within a few days of learning of the compulsive behaviors caused by Mirapex, I consulted my neurologist and he immediately took me off the drug. In the subsequent days and weeks, it's as if my sanity returned and I was able to resist the compulsion which had been wreaking havoc on my life.

I never gambled before I started taking Mirapex, it certainly was not a compulsion. I was not giving any risk indicators. I stopped taking Mirapex last month, I would rather be in agony with RLS than live with this depression of how much I have lost in gambling.

I lost somewhere around $60,000 at various casinos in IL and IN plus the interest on the high interest credit cards I used to finance my gambling habit. Total damages are over $100,000 and I still have $60,000 plus in credit card debt to pay off.
