Intuit

A class action lawsuit has been filed against the QuickBooks Pro developer for allegedly deploying a faulty automatic product update that deleted purchase orders, spreadsheets, and other business data. The lawsuit was filed in Federal Court in San Francisco, CA against Intuit on behalf of businesses located in California, New York and Florida that use QuickBooks Pro for their accounting and other data storage purposes.

On December 15, 2007 Intuit sent out a faulty update to QuickBooks Pro for Macintosh which subsequently caused the wholesale deletion of their QuickBooks data and other files. Customers lost invoicing, sales reports, inventories, day to day working files, pictures, and other files containing financial information. The files lost represent hundreds of hours of work. Plaintiffs claim that "through its negligence in transmitting destructive software code and failure to take immediate corrective action, Intuit took what is typically the busiest and most profitable time of year for small businesses, and turned it into a logistical mess."

They locked up a whole year of our records because we wouldn’t give in and go online, asking us to pay several thousand.

I have did research and found out they are more consumers has same issue like us with Quickbooks merchant service. I belive we are scammed by Quickbooks for the funds they are holding. I would to found out how to file class a lawsuit against them. Thank you!

Quickbooks for mac 2016 stopped synchronizing to our bank accounts - to force users to upgrade by design- as had been the case in the past. The upgrade to 2019 for mac caused massive loss of data when the QB server failed to synchronize properly. Intuit failed to identify the issue properly and focused instead on the database itself and consolidated the database causing further grievance by loosing more data. After 3 weeks of nonsense and data still vanishing, we migrated to Quickbooks online in desperation. While that works for now, it is missing some major features such as proper sales tax reporting, forcing a lot more work to be done by hand. Furthermore, we do not trust the database (intuit told us to start a new one ASAP) but QB online wants us to pay for multiple companies if we do this. This whole ongoing event feels fraudulent and negligent. It caused damage to our company. Intuit is not resolving the situation and has not issued even basic refunds/credits for QB 2019 or online to date and is not getting back to us to solve this.

TIMEBOMB built into Quickbooks Point of Sale 3.0

Was happily using this product on Windows XP for years until June 1, 2015. That was the day I had to go back in time BEFORE June 1, 2016 and usually set the Date and Time on my computer BEFORE that to day to pull up my Customer Search Function, AND my Products and Services Search Function. No use to calling Tech Support because they would have said, "Sorry, we no longer support this software. Would you like to pay for the upgrade?" Really? NOT!!!!

Every one of these POS 3.0 version users that did not upgrade nor purchase a newer version, experienced this same issue. There should be a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, because if one did a total wipe and reload/reinstall of Windows 98/2000/XP or Windows 7, and reinstalled Point of Sale 3.0 DEVOID/WITHOUT putting the computer on the internet, it would do the same thing. Thus this is how this TIMEBOMB in the software was discovered!

This week, I installed Windows 7-32bit into a new computer, installed Quickbooks POS 3.0. Unfortunately, the software will not do its updates, NOR did my Database restore. IT CAME INTO ERRORS at Restore of my backup file database! Did Intuit engineers design ANOTHER software switch, once online and running the software to INJECT a COCKBLOCK!?! Am sure glad I never took on their Merchant Account as I only use the basic features for so many years without a hitch until Mid-2016.

I have lost all my data several times with quickbooks updates. I have spent numerous grueling hours upon weeks and months to try to recreate paychecks and bank reconciled statements a good 3-4 times and finally got it right non only to find I needed help with an update error. After spending about 10 hours trying to fix it, I called the help number (which is nearly impossible to find. You sure can find a number for sales! Totally pisses me off!!!) and after 3 hours with them trying to get me set up for online backup they fixed my error problem so they said and then they couldn't fix the problem they were getting in trying to set up my online backup (that they talked me into purchasing so I wouldn't have this problem in the future) Now after a week of taking a break from this mess, I now couldn't do my payroll as it said it couldn't update as there was an error. I then spend 2 hours with a support person that fixed my error problem and uncleared all my paychecks from Jan 1 till now and all my bank reconciled statements are incorrect. I am having nothing but trouble and NOW AGAIN reconciling statements that I have done for the 4 or 5th time. This should be unlawful and to think we spend a ton of money to use this product and it is just brings pain and suffering to say the least! I pity the people that work for this company. They definitely need a big lawsuit brought on them. Shame on this company! How can they still be in business? They have a monopoly that's why. People think I am crazy when I start talking about what this company is doing to me and they can't believe it. I too can't believe it. Disgusting!!!

I use quickbooks pro to access my Bank of America business account. Periodically it stops working, and I have to call qickbooks or bank of America. In the past errors have occurred as a result of changes to the bank's security systems or other compatibility issues. Today I called QuickBooks and they told me that they could troubleshoot the problem for a one time "support fee" of $59, even though their product supposedly comes with 2 years of free support. I wonder why I must pay to fix a problem that I did not create? They are now holding my banking information for ransom. This cannot be legal.

Quickbooks online and Quickbooks Pro 2016 has deleted years of information. Totally anilated my invoice history as well as my customer's and payment information!
I am beyond upset! I have paid computer people and spent hours already reentering years of lost information and not even close to completion! Also, somehow gave my customer's several credits!

2016 update destroyed my settings and I am now told I have to pay $349 for an update to 2016 that does nothing different than the 2013 version. At least nothing that I need is different. I want my money back.

I have been using QB Pro 2015 and the program has deleted my data for both accounting year 2014 and 2015. Is this lawsuit still active?
