University of California

Class action status is being sought for a lawsuit filed against the University of California and Henry Reid, director of UCLA's willed body program. The suit was filed on behalf of families of people whose bodies had been donated to the university for medical research, and alleges that Reid has been involved in the illegal sale of thousands of cadavers, and that university officials were aware of it. Reid and Ernest Nelson, who is not a university employee, were recently arrested as part of an investigation into the trafficking of stolen body parts.
