Union Central Life Insurance
A class action lawsuit has been filed against Union Central Life Insurance in Forest Park, IN on behalf of employees. The suit was filed regarding severance benefits that were lost when Union Central sold its group life and disability insurance business to American United Life Insurance Co. of Indianapolis on May 31. The suit alleges that the company gutted the company's severance pay policy two days before the deal was announced, which deprived workers of a perk that they banked on to cushion them in the event they didn't elect to join American United.
