International Paper Co.

Former salaried employees filed a class action lawsuit against the company claiming they were unfairly denied severance payments offered in an IP company policy when they accepted jobs with SMART Papers after it bought the B Street mill in 2001. The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court in Cincinnati on behalf of almost 150 workers. International Paper has agreed to a $3.7 million class action settlement. (Nov-17-05) [JOURNAL NEWS]
