A class action lawsuit was filed against Iowa Des Moines' largest hospital regarding a billing maneuver that was ripping off victims of car accidents. A complicated billing procedure allowed the hospital to take in more money for the treatment of traffic accident victims. Mercy Medical Center has agreed to stop the billing practice and will pay a $2 million class action settlement to 1,200 former patients. (Jun-07-06)
