TracFone Wireless Inc.



Burlington, KY: (Mar-05-07) A class action lawsuit filed against top prepaid cellular company, TracFone Wireless Inc., alleged that the company misled consumers by charging them at the roaming rate in their home calling area and refused to extend the length of their prepaid service periods during repairs of defective handsets. In a settlement reached, TracFone agreed to give each of the 12 million to 13 million TracFone customers 20 additional units of airtime, bringing the settlement costs to the company to about $70 million. I unfortunately was introduced to tracfone many years ago by a late friend, I state unfortunately because I have been lied to from more than one tracfone costumer representative. The latest incident with tracfone is that my phone out of the blue suddenly went deactivated. The costumer service representative informed me to call their 800 number, all this did was result that tracfone expected me to purchase more air time to activate my phone, that ain't going to happen as I have plenty of both the minutes and date time left. I fired off an email to corporate suggesting that the situation may be best remedied without further ado. If no satisfaction results with this approach the FCC will next come into play.

roaming fees, what this is rediculous its suppose to be UNLIMITED! I have traveled for years with my tracfone in hand the minutes get ate up as it is, i have been a loyal customer of tracfone for almost twenty years, but this definately angers me! passion

if this is true that tracfone has broken our trust in such a manner i am as well angered, i have been a tracfone carrier for almost twenty years and i pay them enough every three months to have my rights protected. how can they justify just taking money from us in this manner i just became aware of this lawsuit, and am now onboard! will be watching for the outcome of this!
