Boston, MA: A federal judge has certified a national class action against American Airlines that will enable Skycaps from across the country to join the suit. The suit claims that the Skycaps lost tips after American Airlines imposed a $2 curbside baggage fee.
According to a report in Boston.com, American Airlines Skycaps from 85 airports across the US will be eligible to join the suit, damages for which could run into the millions.
This class action follows on from an earlier case about 18 months ago in which a federal jury awarded $325,000 for lost tips resulting from baggage fees to nine current and former American Airline Skycaps from Massachusetts.
