Arizona and the Board of Regents

A class action lawsuit has been filed against the state and the Board of Regents regarding tuition increases. The lawsuit claims the 2003 39% tuition increase was unfair and illegal. The Arizona Constitution requires instruction at state universities be as nearly free as possible. The class was filed on behalf of current and former students who were forced to pay the 2003 and other tuition fees.
