Chi-Chi's Class Action Lawsuit over Hepatitis A

Class action status is being sought for a lawsuit filed against Prandium, Inc., owner of the Chi-Chi's restaurant chain. The suit was filed on behalf of Jacqueline Barborak and her daughter Tracy who both contracted Hepatitis-A after eating at the Chi-Chi's in Beaver Valley Mall in Monaca, Pennsylvania on October 5, 2003. Several other people have contracted the virus after eating at the Chi Chi's at the Beaver Valley Mall. If granted class status, the suit would seek compensation for existing and ongoing medical expenses related to the HAV outbreak and continued medical monitoring, which would include expenses for liver function tests.
