Sears, Roebuck and Co.

A class action lawsuit has been filed against Sears, Roebuck and Co. on behalf of consumers. The suit alleges consumer fraud and claims that that Sears has been misleading consumers through false advertising that its Craftsman tool line is "Made in the USA." The suit states that promotions in ads, the website, on signs and labels that Craftsman is "Made in the USA" led consumers to purchase the tools out of a sense of patriotism. Consumers were also led to believe that Craftsman is of high quality because it is "Made in the USA." Pictures attached to the complaint clearly show metal parts from Austria, Denmark, China, India and Mexico on Craftsman tools boldly labeled as "Made in the USA."

I own many craftsman power tools and always wondered why the did not last as advertised. On 12/5/15 I purchased a table saw model 137.415030 that I needed for work the next day. I paid $30 to have it picked up and delivered to my house, I live in Brooklyn NY and don't drive. When I started to put the saw together and I got to the table itself I found that the whole right extension table was totally damaged and bent out of shape. I have pictures. All they kept telling me was to return it to the store and they would process a refund and give me another one. They would not consider what I had paid to have it picked up nor the cost for this turnaround. All I had to say was how did this end up in the box to be sold. I still have not had this situation cleared up as when I requested replacement parts was told they would be replaced the parts needed came to me with missing parts. When I called them about this I was told 1 of the replacement parts I needed was NO LONGER MANAFACTURED and could not be replaced. This is 15 days into my parts warranty. Is there some way to get redress. Please don't ask me to call them again as I have called them 2 dozen times at least not to mention I don't know how many emails. I needed this saw for work the next day and I trusted them to sell be a quality product in perfect condition not something that somebody dropped on its side then stuck it in the box anyway and calls and emails to hem have gotten me nowhere.
