D-Tron Pump

The D-Tron series insulin pump has been pulled from the U.S. market by manufacturer Diseltronic, stating "Some pumps started programming a bolus (concentrated dose) of insulin that was not initiated by the pump user and the delivery of an unintended bolus was made unless it was stopped by the device user."

The FDA "considers that the probability of life threatening consequences is possible by use of this model pump."

All D-Tron users should stop using the standard bolus function immediately, and use the scroll bolus function instead. The instructions for this change in procedure should be listed in the D-Tron instruction manual.
