Class action status is being sought in a lawsuit filed against Health Management Associates Inc. The suit alleges that the hospital chain charged uninsured patients more than those with insurance which is a violation of unfair and deceptive trade practice laws given that patients sign forms agreeing to pay a "reasonable and regular" rate.
