Los Angeles, CA: American Honda Motor Co. (Honda) has issued a recall concerning defective airbags in certain model year 2001-2005 Honda Civic, 2003-2004 Civic CNG and Element, 2002-2005 CR-V, 2002-2004 Odyssey, 2003-2005 Accord, Pilot, Civic Hybrid, and Acura MDX, 2005 Acura RL and 2006 Honda Ridgeline vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in geographic locations associated with high absolute humidity.

Specifically, vehicles sold, or ever registered, in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Saipan, Guam, and American Samoa are addressed by this recall. Upon deployment of the passenger side frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture.

In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger side frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking and potentially seriously injuring the vehicle occupants.

I was recently in an accident in which I was t-boned and roll over in which I suffered back, shoulder and head pain/severe headaches, sensitivity to light. My drivers side airbags failed to deploy and believe that the head trauma may have been caused by smacking my head into the drivers window/cross bar. I just was wondering if I have any sort of a case in which I may receive some help with some of the medical bills that may be associated with having to go in and get a cat scan/see a specialist....? I've never had to go through anything like this so am unfamiliar with what I need to do. I've spoken with my normal physician about it but he wanted to rule out the possibility of it being stress related because of my back.. I think that it wouldn't be so severe if it was, not to mention the light sensitivity.

I lost a daughter in a car accident in 2006 and received a notice that the Honda she was a passenger in was recalled. My other daughter was in the car as well as two cousins who all survived. Can we join in on a class action lawsuit? I have just suffered ongoing pain and suffering knowing that not much was done.
