Los Angeles Unified School District

High school employees have filed a lawsuit and are seeking class action status against the school district for allegedly underpaying staff in violation of labor laws. The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court and claims the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) paid teachers and district employees less than minimum wage. The suit alleges LAUSD has failed and refused, and continues to fail and refuse, to pay for all hours worked as required by California wage and hour laws. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages, including unpaid wages and general and punitive damages.
