Lotronex is a prescription medication that was approved to treat Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) in women. In 2000 Glaxo Wellcome withdrew the drug from the market due to an increasing number of deaths, surgeries and hospitalizations occuring in people taking this drug.

Symptoms can include severe constipation leading to intestinal obstruction and ruptured bowels, and ischemic colitis.
