Motorola MOT Securities Stock Fraud

- by

Company: Motorola
Ticker Symbol: MOT
Class Period: Dec-6-07 to Jan-22-08
Date Filed: Jan-21-10
Lead Plaintiff Deadline: Mar-22-10
Court: Northern District of Illinois
Allegations:
A class action lawsuit has been filed against Motorola, alleging that the electronics company falsely inflated its stock price at the end of 2007 and beginning of 2008.

The suit has been filed by the St. Lucie County Fire District Firefighters' Pension Trust Fund, and the class applies to all those who bought Motorola stock from Dec. 6, 2007, through Jan. 22, 2008.

The suit alleges that Motorola executives made "false and misleading public statements" about the company's business, with the executives insisting that Motorola was in robust financial health and had rounded the corner following setbacks associated with its RAZR phone series. However, the suit states, "defendants knew that in reality the company had already irreparably lost significant market share to the Apple, Inc., iPhone and other smartphone devices."

If you acquired the securities of the defendants during the Class Period you may, no later than the Lead Plaintiff Deadline shown above, request that the Court appoint you as lead plaintiff through counsel of your choice. You may also choose to remain an absent class member. A lead plaintiff must meet certain requirements.
