Tevis Oil Co.

A class action suit filed against Tevis Oil claims methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), a gasoline additive and suspected carcinogen, leached into the ground from a nearby Shell station owned by Tevis Oil Co. It was detected in 2002 and affected 23 wells in the area. The Sandymount area of Finksburg had MTBE contamination incidents in recent years.
