Nine West recalls thong sandals

Nine West Footwear is recalling about 6,700 pairs of little girls' "Sam and Libby" thong sandals because metal tacks which are designed to hold down the sides of the strap to the sole can detach or be pulled out and potentially cause a laceration hazard. The Fish, Starfish and Angelfish models with aforementioned decoration attached to the sandals' straps are pink or turquoise. The top of the sole looks wooden and the bottom is either pink or turquoise. The sandals were sold at Stride Rite, Brothers, Century 21, and Marshalls stores nationwide from March 2006 through April 2006.

Consumers are advised to stop wearing the sandals and return them to the place of purchase. Contact Nine West at 1-800-999-1877 or visit the firm's [website].
