Sprint

A class action lawsuit claims Sprint provided customer records to the government in violation of the Electronic Privacy Act of 1986, which bars telephone carriers from giving anyone information about calls except in extreme circumstances.

The suit claims that the National Security Agency began a classified surveillance program after September 11, 2001, to intercept the telephone and Internet communications of persons inside the U.S. without judicial authorization, and this program is still in existence.
