State of Indiana

A lawsuit seeking class action status against the Indiana Department of Correction on behalf of more than 20,000 state prisoners claims that a policy barring adult magazines and other printed material with nudity or sexual content is unconstitutional. The suit claims that the new policy, which went into effect June 2006, could also prohibit sexually explicit personal letters and publications such as daily newspapers, and therefore violates civil rights.
