Victoria's Secret Could Be Going to Court

It's no secret that Victoria's Secret is being sued-and it's all about bras: bras that cause painful rashes and welts, according to some unhappy customers. In fact even super models Giselle Bundchen and Heidi Klum claim the Victoria's Secret (VS) bras have made them ill.

The lawsuit was filed by Roberta Ritter, a 37-year old from Ohio who claims that her Angels Secret Embrace bra gave her welts that were red, hot to the touch, extremely inflamed and blistery. Lawyers for Miss Ritter allegedly bought some of the same bras and had them tested, the results of which showed trace elements of formaldehyde which is used to make fabrics crease -resistant. However, a spokesperson for VS claims that they do not use the chemical in their lingerie.

Since the announcement of the lawsuit hundreds of women have come forward with complaints about the bras. This has prompted Ritter's lawyers to seek class action status for the lawsuit. Unfortunately, it won't be until 2009 that a judge decides whether a suit can be brought against VS, and if it can proceed as a class action lawsuit.

After purchasing many bras from victoria secret I noticed welts and red and pinkish looking rashes underneath my breast and accross my shoulders. My bras cost about 40 to 50 dollars each and they hurt when I wear them.

I have purchased several Victoria Secret Bras with underwires over the past few years at over $50-$45 each. Last year I developed a rash underneath each breast that is currently still visible which lead to some discoloration and scarring. The rashes are still bothering me, especially when it gets hot and my body temperature rises even a little.

I couldn't wear a bra for at least 2 weeks after wearing these bras and was in constant agony with intense scratching and pain.

I developed a itchy rash underneath my breast as a result of the royal blue push up bra I purchased from Victoria's Secret 2 - 4 years ago. While it was a very sexy bra, I thought I may have been allergic to the bra, and thus eventually stopped wearing it. I used to find myself scratching and rubbing underneath the bra which is embarrassing in public. I never purchased another Victoria Secret Push Up bra again, but instead started shopping at Frederick's of Hollywood. I still have the scar underneath my breast today.
