Yard House Bar & Grill

A class action lawsuit has been filed in California's Orange County Superior Court against Yard House Bar & Grill, LLC. The lawsuit claims that Yard House, which runs restaurants that feature hundreds of beer taps and a classic rock theme, has violated worker compensation laws with its policies.

The complaint contends that Yard House has implemented a policy that requires its servers, when taking breaks, to pay other servers to cover for them, thereby passing the cost of doing business on to the employees without indemnifying them for the employee's expenses. The lawsuit, filed on behalf of former and current employees, alleges that this practice is illegal. Yard House owns 18 restaurants in Southern California, Arizona, Hawaii, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas and Florida.
