Allina Hospitals & Clinics and Fairview Health Services

Minneapolis, MN: (Mar-16-07) A class action lawsuit filed against Allina Hospitals & Clinics and Fairview Health Services, alleged that the healthcare facilities overcharged uninsured patients compared to amounts charged to other payers. In a settlement reached, Allina and Fairview agreed to pay back some uninsured patients for part of their expenses after receiving treatment at those facilities. Anyone who received treatment and paid $500 or more is entitled to a 25% discounted pay back. Those who paid 75% or more of their balances will receive vouchers to pay for future care from those systems, bringing the payout figures to above a million dollars.
