Bristol-Myers Squibb.

A $62.5 million settlement has been reached in the class action lawsuit filed against Bristol-Myers Squibb, the manufacturer of the cancer-fighting medicine Taxol. The suit alleged that the company conspired to keep lower priced generic equivalents of the breast and ovarian cancer medication off the market. The class consists of 400,000 patients who used Taxol between 1999 and 2003, and they are expected to receive $400 to $2,600 back. (Jul-30-03) [SETTLEMENT WEBSITE]
