A federal securities class action lawsuit and a shareholders' derivative lawsuit were filed against the blood purification systems company and its current and former officers. The suits were originally filed in 2003 and 2004. The consolidated lawsuits alleged that several company officers misrepresented information to investors. The financial terms of the settlements were not disclosed, but it will have no financial impact on the company as its insurance carrier's liability policy will cover the costs.
