The settlement of the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of certain members of the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative has been granted final approval by the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. The court ruled that the settlement had a definite and certain contract term so "the Class Members will no longer be subject to the risk of premature operational failure of any measuring satellite and will have an initial term that is significantly longer than that which the engineers believe is the best case scenario for the contractual life of DBS-1."
