U.S. Government

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a class action lawsuit against the U.S. Government on behalf of 3,000 current and former female FBI employees alleging gender discrimination. Class members included female employees who applied for but were not selected for GS-14 or GS-15 administrative or managerial positions. The terms of the class action settlement permit eligible employees and former employees to file for individual relief, including promotions and back pay. The agreement applies to female professional support staff employed from June 1996 to May 2006. (Aug-16-06) [WASHINGTON POST]
