Northampton, MA: Nearly 100 people filed a class action lawsuit against the county claiming they were illegally strip searched at the local jail. The class was filed on behalf of those who were strip searched at the jail after being arrested between January 18, 2002 and November 7, 2002 for crimes that did not involve drugs, weapons, or violent felonies. US District Court Judge Michael Ponsor has approved a $205,000 class action settlement. (Jan-11-07)
