Yellow Roadway

Over 1,900 employees filed a class action lawsuit against their employer USF Corp., which Yellow Roadway acquired in May 2005. The lawsuit claimed USF closed 26 freight terminals and laid off workers without advance notice. The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act requires large companies to provide 60 days of notice if they plan to lay off 50 or more employees at a particular location. Yellow Roadway has agreed to pay the workers a $7 million wrongful termination settlement. (Aug-09-05)
