New York, NY: MatlinPatterson Global Advisers LLC has agreed to pay $1.2 million in settlement of an employment class action lawsuit .
The former employees brought the class action against the meat processing plants owned by the private equity firm alleging that they were not properly notified of the plants' closings and were misled about their employment status.
The terminated workers have filed an unopposed motion for preliminary approval of the settlement.
