Settlements have been reached in the antitrust and unfair competition class action lawsuits filed in KS, NC, ND, SD, TN and DC. The suits alleged that Microsoft used its monopoly powers to stifle competition and charge higher prices for computer software. The company has agreed to provide vouchers valued at $200 million for the plaintiffs to purchase hardware, operating systems and training and software from various vendors. (Oct-29-03)
