Preliminary $2.4 Million Settlement Reached in Quantcast Clearspring Class Action

Washington, DC: A settlement agreement has been reached with Web measurement firm Quantcast and ad widget company Clearspring with regard to the class action lawsuits that allege the two companies used Flash cookies to track web users against the wishes of those users.

The settlement, if approved in court, would require the two companies to pay a combined $2.4m into a fund to support non-profit organisations that educate consumers about online privacy.
