Investors of Washington Group International, Inc. filed a class action lawsuit after its purchase of Raytheon. The case claimed Raytheon and certain officers violated federal securities laws related to the April 2000 sale. The suit also alleged that Raytheon deliberately misrepresented the financial condition of its Raytheon Engineers & Constructors division in order to sell it to Washington Group International at an artificially inflated price. A $39 million settlement has been proposed. (Apr-15-05)
