San Diego, CA: A class action lawsuit was filed against the city alleging single-family residents and some small businesses were overcharged for wastewater services over the course of a decade. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of nearly 225,000 single-family sewer customers for subsidizing the bills of industrial users from 1994 to 2004. The city of San Diego has reached a $40 million settlement in the class action lawsuit. (Nov-20-06)
