A $1.5 million settlement has been reached in the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of all persons who, between August 3, 2000 and October 31, 2001, purchased a ticket to the theatrical exhibition of Hollow Man, Vertical Limit, A Knight's Tale, The Animal, or The Patriot in the United States. The suit alleged that the company advertised motion pictures using quotations erroneously attributed to "David Manning" of The Ridgefield (Connecticut) Press and endorsements by persons who were Sony's employees.
