The Lockformer Company

An $18.5 million settlement has been reached and is pending bankruptcy court approval in the class action lawsuit filed against Lockformer Co. of Illinois, and its parent companies, Met-Coil Systems Corp. and Mestek Inc., by homeowners with contaminated water wells. The suit was filed in response to a massive chemical trichloroethylene (TCE) spill at Lockformer's Ogden Avenue plant. Approximately 1,500 families will receive $12.5 million, and the companies will pay for the plaintiffs to hook up to Lake Michigan water. (Sep-04-03) [EMAIL LAW FIRM] [EMAIL LOCKFORMER]
