Attorneys' Title Insurance Fund

A class action lawsuit was filed on behalf of homeowners against Florida's leading title insurance company for allegedly charging excessive title insurance rates for refinancing homes. Attorney's Title Insurance Fund allegedly failed to inform customers of lower reissue rates when they refinanced their homes. A discount title insurance premium was established in 1999 for homeowners who were refinancing an existing mortgage; the reissue rate can be up to 43% lower than the premium rate.
