As the company fell into bankruptcy protection and stocks plummeted, United Airlines filed a class action lawsuit against their employer. Workers alleged the plan was mismanaged and that its trustee, Boston-based State Street Bank & Trust Co., was aware of the unstable program. United Airlines has agreed to award employees a $5.25 million partial settlement. (Aug-18-05)
