American Airlines Vacation Time



A class action lawsuit has been filed against American Airlines on behalf of approximately 14,000 employees. The suit alleges that the airline has improperly changed their vacation and holiday policies which has caused some employees to lose some of the time off they have earned so far. The change in the policies means that call center employees will have to defer five days of their vacation time until next year. For the employees who have already used their vacation time, and do not have five days left to defer, they may have to reimburse the company or have five days deducted from next years vacation time.

Case Update:

May-25-06: The matter is proceeding to trial. Trial expected early next year.
