General Trucking and Basic Construction Co. WARN Act Violations

A lawsuit has been filed and is seeking class action status on behalf of workers laid off without sufficient warning. In September 2006, owner Gary Combs laid off 93 workers from Basic and 127 workers from General Trucking - enough to trigger a 60 days layoff notice requirement. The lawsuit was filed in US District Court, Western District of Arkansas and claims the two companies violated the federal Workers And Retraining Notification Act of 1988.
