Adelphi University

The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a class action lawsuit against the university for allegedly paying its full time female professors less than male professors of similar status doing the same work. The lawsuit was filed in US District Court in Brooklyn on behalf of 60 female employees who have worked full time for Adelphi University over the past three years.

The class action claims there is a pay disparity between men and women within the same departments and within the same rank. The suit claims Adelphi University discriminated against its female employees and violated the federal Equal Pay Act.
