The US Consumer Product Safety Commission in cooperation with Canon has recalled 800,000 Canon Desktop Copiers due to fire hazard. An improperly fitting electrical connection inside the copiers can cause overheating, smoking and fire. Canon has received six reports of copiers starting to smoke or catching on fire due to the problem with the electrical connection. Users should stop using the recalled copiers immediately.
